The SHOOP 22 isn’t just a race. It’s a reason. 22 miles for the bold, 2.2 miles for those who want to make a difference, plus a kid-friendly 22 yard run for the next generation. Our mission is simple.

KEEP GOING.

Welcome to The Shoop 22

Dylan Troy Shoop lived a life that mattered. Born May 6, 1995, in El Paso, Texas, and later calling Billings, Montana home, Dylan served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He battled PTSD with quiet strength, leaving an impact far greater than the years he was given. Dylan passed on March 4, 2026, at just 30 years old.

The number 22 meant something to him. Today, it carries an even deeper weight, as an estimated 22 veterans a day are lost to suicide.

Our mission is simple: keep going. Find a reason.

During each race, runners take time to write down their reason to keep going. Those reasons are collected and sent to Dylan’s family each year as a reminder that his story continues to move people forward.

Join us each year the weekend before May 6.

Run for Dylan. Run for each other. Run for your reason.
